ABOUT THE ARTIST
Developing meaningful personal relationships, connecting with nature, and creating art and useful objects provide the inspiration I need to move forward with purpose. I have learned that honesty and compassion is the true source of confidence.
I am a craftsman. I entered the home-building trade at a young age and learned the many facets of residential building. Building and refurbishing homes has accustomed me to hard work, managing and completing complicated tasks within specific deadlines, and working efficiently as the member of a team. Being an artist, writer, and illustrator is a much simpler endeavor than building a home from the ground up. One could argue that it is less practical, but as we enter an age where we consume more entertainment than ever, I think it is becoming more essential.
Being absolutely honest requires looking within and allowing your true self to shine through. The truth is, I am an artist. I have been creating images, books, paintings, drawings, and sculptures all my life. I have sacrificed many things to keep improving my skills and moving forward as an artist. I believe I have the intelligence and work ethic to succeed at nearly anything. To many, I’m sure the faith I have in myself seems delusional, but I know in my heart, the longer I keep that faith alive, the more skills I develop and the better chance I have to create something that truly astounds people.
